About Melanie
Life can be challenging, and everyone needs support at different points in their journey. I am dedicated to walking alongside individuals as they navigate stress, life transitions, chronic illness, and the demands of caregiving. I offer a supportive, judgment‑free space where clients feel heard, valued, and understood.
I am originally from Sioux Falls, SD, and earned my Bachelor’s in Social Work from Minnesota State University, Mankato, followed by my Master’s of Social Work from the University of South Dakota. My background is in medical social work, supporting adults in inpatient, outpatient, and community‑based settings. These experiences have shaped my compassionate, comprehensive approach to therapy.
My areas of expertise include chronic health issues, caregiving, life transitions, serious mental illness (SMI), depression, and anxiety. I take a collaborative, empathetic, and respectful approach, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities with specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
I would love the opportunity to connect with you. You can reach me at (605)231-8387.
